Microblading
As someone who performs microblading, I've walked countless clients through the healing process. Even though I provide a healing timeline page, I know it's natural for many to feel anxious during certain stages—especially when it feels like the brows look different from what was expected. Healing can be a rollercoaster, but if you trust the process, you'll reach beautiful results.
Your brows will appear around 40% darker and bolder than their final healed color. The skin may have a pinkish or reddish tint beneath the pigment, which can intensify the color's appearance. Expect some swelling and redness around the brow area.
Swelling and redness should start to subside. Scabbing will begin to form over the strokes, and your brows may feel itchy and appear thicker in texture.
Dead skin cells will start to flake off, and peeling may begin around the edges of your brows. Avoid picking at the flakes!
The skin continues to exfoliate, which can sometimes cause the color to look faint or temporarily absent.
The pigment will continue to oxidize, allowing the microbladed strokes to gradually reveal the intended color. Some areas may appear patchy or faded, which is why a 6- to 12-week touch-up is recommended to complete the process.
By your six-week touch-up, any inconsistencies will be adjusted, and we can perfect any final details. At this point, your brows should be close to the beautiful result that will last.
So, if you find yourself worried, refer back to this timeline—and know that your healing journey is progressing just as it should. And if you ever have any questions, remember to check my healing timeline page, which covers each of these phases in even more detail.
